Jesus was a revolutionary for many reasons, one of them being that he called his people to him in his divine work. He called all of his people, not just some of his people. He didn’t require a certain amount of time on the job or a diploma. He said to go and tell the world about him with your voice and your actions. The ministries of Missio are patterned after his command. Our ministries are not led by paid clergy or religious professionals, but are dreamed up and implemented by the people in our community and their desires to follow where the Spirit of God leads them.
Kids Community Ballet
Date Started: June 2015
Kids of all ages are welcome to join us for free ballet classes at Missio. Our goal is to bless the children in our neighborhood by offering our friendship as a church community through dance and hospitality. We also enjoy connecting with one another outside of class through events and performing opportunities.
First and foremost, we desire that each child feel seen, known, and loved. We long to see our surrounding neighborhoods united together in community, regardless of background. Our hope is to use the medium of dance to encourage children through mental, physical, and artistic skill and healthy, meaningful relationships.
“Let them praise His name with dancing…” – Psalm 149:3

Once a quarter, Missio Dei hosts an Open Mic Worship Night where creative people from across the Salt Lake valley are invited to share their talents to the glory of God.
These events function much like traditional open mic nights, in which artists may choose a time slot during which to take the stage; the difference being that Open Mic Worship Nights are centered around worship, community, and Jesus. Open Mic Worship Nights were started with two goals in mind:
1. To bring people together in unity to worship in spirit and in truth, and
2. To give a platform to gifted worshippers who otherwise may not have had one.
Open Mic Worship Nights are held in the Missio Dei cafe and are led by Katelyn Bair. You can reach Katelyn via email at email@example.com for more information.
Date Started: July 2013
This group focuses on serving the women on the streets of Salt Lake City who are engaged in prostitution. These women are primarily on North Temple and State Street and are usually homeless and dealing with addiction issues. Our goal is to meet them where they are, assess their emotional and physical needs and attempt to meet those needs. We walk the streets with supplies and information in hopes of building relationships and serving these women.
This group goes out to walk the streets the first two Mondays and the last two Wednesdays of each month. If you’d like to join, want to know what supplies you can help provide, or have questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Open Table exists as a food outreach for those in our neighborhood who may need a good meal. The story of the gospel is embodied each week as we gather around the table. That table should should shape our lives, hearts, and imaginations. We can live as the people of Jesus by gathering around tables and providing a meal for the people in need throughout our community.
We will be making and serving dinner on the second and fourth Thursday nights of the month starting at 5:30 pm at The Missio Building.
If you have further questions or want to help out by cooking, serving, setting up tables and chairs, food shopping, or anything else, email Christin Hyde at email@example.com.
Cru has existed in and out of SLC long before 2010, but since Missio’s birth we’ve been partnered with the local Cru leaders to love and serve our college campuses. Cru is an inter-denominational Christian group on college campuses in Salt Lake City and around the world. We exist to encourage students toward God's intended meaning and purpose for them - having a personal relationship with Himself. We seek to foster a gospel-centered community that helps students grow in their relationship with Jesus and equips them to share the life-changing message of Christ for a lifetime. For more information, or to get involved email Stephanie Finley.
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship is a college campus ministry that is committed to helping students encounter God and sending out empowered leaders who will change the world.
